Where do I find my social security number?

Your social security number (15 digits) is written on the front of your carte Vitale, on your payslips and on your certificate of entitlement (“attestation de droits”).

Where to find it online

  • ameli.fr account or ameli app: the number is shown under “Mes informations” and on the certificate of entitlement you can download.
  • It also appears on your payslips and on letters from the CPAM, the CAF and France Travail.

If you have lost it

  • Download the certificate of entitlement from your ameli account: the number is on it.
  • With no account, your CPAM can give it to you on 3646 or at the desk, if you show an ID.
  • If you have never been registered, the request is made to the CPAM (or the MSA) with a birth certificate and an ID.
