Terms of use

Version of 30 September 2026.

1. Purpose

Paperflee is a mobile application (iPhone, Android) and a website published by [À COMPLÉTER : LEGAL_PUBLISHER_NAME], hereinafter “the Publisher”. Paperflee explains, in plain language, what an administrative document or an everyday letter says: what it asks for, whether it is urgent, what to do and by when. It also helps to find, on the user's device, the numbers that a procedure asks for.

These terms govern the use of the application and the site (together “the Service”). Any use of the Service means acceptance of these terms.

2. What the Service does, and does not do

The Service provides general information: rewording, summary, extraction of a date or an amount, translation, reading aloud.

The Service does not provide personalised legal, tax, medical or financial advice. It never recommends accepting, refusing, signing, contesting or paying. It carries out no procedure on the user's behalf and does not connect to any personal online account. For any decision, the user is invited to consult the issuing body, France Services, a charity or a professional (lawyer, notary, doctor).

The explanations are generated by artificial intelligence (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, article 50). They may contain errors. The user must always check dates, amounts and actions on the original document. The mention “to check on the original” means that an item could not be found in the text of the document.

Medical documents (test results, reports, prescriptions) are excluded from the Service, which refers the user to their doctor or pharmacist.

3. Access to the Service and account

The application lets you add and protect a paper without an account. To start the analysis by artificial intelligence, a free account (e-mail address checked with a code, first name requested) is needed; no bank card is requested. The free paper of the month is attached to the account, and one person cannot multiply accounts to obtain more free papers.

An anonymous technical identifier is generated on the device to link purchases and limit abuse; the server also keeps a non-reversible fingerprint of the IP address, solely to limit abuse (the address itself is not kept). Clearing the data of the application or of the browser deletes the papers saved on the device. Papers stay on each device: they are not synchronised between devices. The account can be deleted at any time from the settings.

The user must be of legal age or have the authorisation of their legal representative.

4. Plans and payment

The Service includes a free plan (one paper per month) and paid plans described on the “Plans” page. As long as payment is not open, these plans are shown but unavailable (“Coming soon”). They include: “Flee” and “Flee+” subscriptions (monthly or yearly) and a booklet of papers with no subscription. A paper is counted against the quota only when the explanation has been delivered: an analysis that fails is not counted. The Publisher may offer a free trial of a plan; its length and the price afterwards are shown before any subscription. The exact content of each plan, its limits (papers per month, pages per paper, questions per paper, devices) and its price are shown before any purchase.

Purchases made in the application go through the App Store (Apple) or Google Play, under their own terms. Purchases on the site go through Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period and is done from the settings of the App Store or Google Play, or from the management portal for a purchase made on the site (“Cancel in one click”).

Right of withdrawal. For digital content supplied immediately, the user acknowledges that performance starts on purchase and waives their right of withdrawal, in accordance with article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code. Refunds of purchases made through Apple or Google are governed by their respective policies.

Reasonable personal use. “Unlimited” plans do not exist. The caps shown are there to prevent resale or sharing on a large scale, never to limit normal personal use. An account exceeding the caps is offered a booklet or may write to support.

5. Obligations of the user

The user undertakes to:

  • use the Service only for their own documents or those of people they help with their agreement;
  • not submit content that is unlawful, violent, or unrelated to an administrative document;
  • review the masked data before any sending and not circumvent the masking;
  • not attempt to access the Service by automated means or to circumvent the usage limits.

A device that repeatedly sends rejected content, or that creates very many installations to get round the free quota, may be limited or temporarily blocked.

6. Personal data

The document is read and anonymised on the device. Only a masked text is sent to an AI provider hosted in the European Union, with no retention. No document is stored on the Publisher's servers. If you expressly agree (option off by default, can be withdrawn at any time), the masked text of your papers may be kept for 12 months, anonymously, to evaluate and improve the AI; it is never sold. Feedback or an error report written by the user is attached to the anonymous technical identifier of the device, so that it can be found and answered. The details are in the Privacy policy.

7. Intellectual property

The application, the site, the help sheets and their illustrations are the property of the Publisher. The sheets may be shared by link. Any reproduction for commercial purposes is forbidden without written agreement.

8. Availability and liability

The Publisher endeavours to keep the Service accessible but does not guarantee continuous availability. The free service may be temporarily suspended if the AI spending cap is exceeded; subscribers continue to be served.

The Publisher cannot be held liable for the consequences of an incorrect or incomplete explanation, a missed deadline or a decision made by the user on the basis of the Service. The user remains solely responsible for checking against the original and for the procedures they undertake. The Publisher's liability, if it were engaged, is limited to the amount paid by the user over the last twelve months.

9. Changes and termination

The Publisher may change these terms; users are informed in the application. The user may stop using the Service at any time and erase all their data from the settings (“Erase all my data”).

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the user may contact support ([email protected]) and, failing a solution, use a consumer mediator free of charge: [À COMPLÉTER : LEGAL_MEDIATOR]. The European online dispute resolution platform is available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

11. Language

These terms are written in French, which is authoritative. An English translation is provided for information only; it has been reviewed neither by a lawyer nor by a native speaker. Any other translation, automatic or not, is used by the user at their own risk.
