Where do I find my foreigner number (AGDREF)?

The foreigner number (10 digits, known as the “AGDREF number”) is printed on your residence permit, below the photo, and on any receipt or letter from the prefecture.

Where to find it online

  • ANEF account (administration-etrangers-en-france.interieur.gouv.fr) → “Mon compte”: the foreigner number is shown with your civil status.
  • It is asked for in every online procedure (renewal, change of address, duplicate).

If you have lost it

  • Find it on an old receipt, an extension certificate or a letter from the prefecture.
  • Otherwise, contact the prefecture through its digital reception point; a charity such as La Cimade can help you free of charge.
