Where do I find my identity card number?

The identity card number is printed on the front, top right, under the mention “N° du document”; on a passport, it is at the top right of the page with the photo.

Where to find it online

  • France Identité app (if your card is registered there): the details of the document, including its number, can be viewed.
  • ANTS account → “Mes titres” to follow a request in progress.

If you have lost it

  • Report the loss on service-public.fr (loss) or at the police/gendarmerie (theft), then make a pre-application on ants.gouv.fr and book an appointment at the town hall.
  • The number of the old card is on the declaration receipt if you registered it, and on some past procedures (tickets, contracts) where you entered it.
