Where do I find a proof of address?

A bill for electricity, gas, water, phone or internet in your name and less than 6 months old works as proof of address; so do a tax notice, a rent receipt or a home insurance certificate.

Where to find it online

  • Download the latest bill from your supplier's customer area (“Mes factures”).
  • For an ANTS procedure (identity card, driving licence), the “Justif'Adresse” service can check the address directly with some suppliers, with no document.

If you have lost it

  • If you are staying with someone, the person hosting you writes an accommodation certificate (“attestation d'hébergement”), attached to their ID and their own proof of address.
  • With no stable home, a CCAS (municipal social action centre) or an approved charity can give you a mailing address and issue a certificate.
