Where do I find the reference of my tax notice?

The notice reference is in the “Vos références” box at the top left of the tax notice, below the tax number.

Where to find it online

  • In your personal account on impots.gouv.fr, under “Documents”: each notice (income tax, property tax) can be viewed as a PDF with its reference.
  • This reference is used to pay a notice online without signing in (“Payer en ligne”, then “Vous n'avez pas d'espace”) and to check that a notice is genuine.

If you have lost it

  • Download the notice again from your personal account: the reference is on it.
  • Without online access, your local tax office (centre des finances publiques) can reprint the notice if you show an ID.
