Taxes
Where do I find my tax number?
Your tax number (13 digits) is at the top left of your tax notice, in the “Vos références” box, and on the first page of your income tax return.
Where to find it online
- Sign in to your personal account on impots.gouv.fr: the tax number is the one you enter to identify yourself; it is also shown at the top of the “Mes informations” page.
- In a letter or e-mail from the tax authority (DGFiP), it appears under the mention “Numéro fiscal” or “SPI”.
- Each member of the household has their own tax number, even if there is only one return.
If you have lost it
- On impots.gouv.fr, click “Aide” then “Je n'ai pas de numéro fiscal / J'ai perdu mon numéro fiscal”: it is sent to you by e-mail or post.
- You can also ask for it at your local tax office (centre des finances publiques), with an ID.
- If you have never filed a return in France, request a tax number using the online form “Je n'ai pas de numéro fiscal”.
